Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FootyLynk, operated by FootyLynk ("we," "us," "our"), including the website, related apps, and services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must confirm your account via the email link sent during registration before certain features (including being contacted or messaged by other users) become available. By registering, you confirm the information you provide, including your date of birth, is accurate.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or pose a risk to other users — particularly minors.

3. User content

You retain ownership of content you post (profile information, photos, videos, articles, messages, product listings). By posting, you grant FootyLynk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content on the Platform. You're solely responsible for content you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

4. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: harass, threaten, or attempt to contact minors outside the Platform's protected channels; post false, misleading, or infringing content; impersonate another person or entity; use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; attempt to circumvent guardian-approval protections; or interfere with the Platform's operation or security.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Certain features (featured placement, unlimited rosters, contract records, analytics, blue-tick verification, advertising, competition entry, and marketplace purchases) require payment. Prices are set in US Dollars and displayed to you in an estimated local-currency equivalent; the actual charge is processed in the currency your payment provider supports. Payments are processed by Paystack; we do not store your card details. Subscription fees are billed for the period selected (monthly or yearly) and do not automatically renew unless stated otherwise at checkout. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our discretion.

6. Marketplace

FootyLynk provides a platform for users to list and purchase football-related goods. We are not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers and do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of listed items. Disputes between buyers and sellers are the responsibility of those parties.

7. Competitions and match challenges

Competition entry fees, once paid, follow the terms set by the organizing user, subject to our general refund policy above. FootyLynk does not organize, referee, or guarantee the outcome of any match, competition, or challenge conducted through the Platform.

8. Minors and guardian provisions

Accounts belonging to users under 18 have contact and messaging features restricted until a parent or guardian confirms the relationship through our verification process. This is a safety feature and not optional. Guardians who confirm a relationship are representing that they are the minor's actual parent or legal guardian.

9. Intellectual property

The FootyLynk name, logo, and Platform design are our property. You may not use them without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that any player, club, scout, agent, or coach profile is accurate, verified, or leads to any particular outcome (trials, contracts, transfers, etc.), except where a profile explicitly carries our verification badge. We are not responsible for the conduct of users on or off the Platform.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FootyLynk is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
